Independence Chamber of Commerce Priorities for 2007 – 2011
At a two-day planning session held in May, 2006, the Independence Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors outlined the Chamber’s plan of action for the years 2007 – 2011.
The following is a list of chamber priorities in order of importance.
- West Independence – Specifically, City Council districts One and Four need the most attention in improving infrastructure, housing, public safety and business re-development.
- Noland Road – Support any and all efforts by Noland Road property owners/tenants to stabilize and improve the areas business development and profitability.
- Legacy Foundation – Assist the Foundation in raising the necessary funds to preserve the historic sites in Independence including the building of a Festival Park.
- Jobs/Little Blue Valley – With the completion of the Little Blue segment of the Lewis and Clark Expressway, support the environment for, and the development of, head-of-household jobs.
- Workforce Development – Assist the Independence, Fort Osage and Blue Springs school districts with workforce development programs.
- Community Image – Continually work to improve the image of Independence by selling “what’s right” with our community.
Vision Statement: We are working in concert, each pulling our own weight, in the same direction.
Mission Statement: Provide leadership and service to promote the economic development of Independence.
New Priorities Coming Soon! May 11 &12, 2011 the Independence Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will reorganize the Chambers priorities for 2012-2019.
